All About Magnets!

How it started:

Magnets The Game was discovered in an abandoned factory in Brooklyn, NY, in 2002. While scavenging the factory's abandoned supplies we found a single box of small disc magnets. When playing with this loot we began tossing the magnets at the other magnets, and Magnets The Game was born. Rules were established to create a minimum of order, from which many spontaneous variations could be discovered. However the game's original conception comes from free play!

Since we all love to play, and never want to watch, we created a game where we can all win and no one has to lose! The collective objective is to retrieve all the magnets through play. This can't be done by just one player, since only one magnet is thrown per turn. It requires a series of accurate throws being made by a team. Once there is a common goal, it's easier to share. When some one runs out of magnets she can ask for charity. Charity comes from the player whom luck and skill have been gracing with the most magnets. This player graciously gives half of her magnets to the person on whom luck has run out.

A game of discovery:

Variations are being developed and are encouraged. Play the game competitively, and don't partake in charity! Play it quick, allowing just two seconds for the next player to throw! Or just anarchically, without waiting your turn! Create your own variations and never get bored again! And tell us about them at info@magnetsthegame.com.
